The Ironic Power Dynamic Between Men and Women in Dating, Attraction and Courtship

June 14th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Rion Williams Here’s why so many men are so far away from success with women. A man has to be equal or greater in relational power to the woman for her to be generally interested in a physical relationship. If she can sense that he is going to put or keep her as the favor in the relationship, she will lose interest. Her loss of interest is biological and emotional; she didn’t have any ‘feelings’ for the nice, supportive guy who brought her flowers and took her out to an expensive restaurant. So if men could understand that he must have the favor of power in the relationship and the interest of the woman (all that matters), then they would be getting somewhere. Unfortunately you could tell so many men to act indifferent or not show signs of interest in women but for many of them, their body will be telling the truth. So many millions of men have edified the value of a woman and her sexually (which is just being exploited by the architects for profit). They have put so much added value on beautiful, sexy women over time that getting him to act UNinterested is hard to do; it’s about all he IS interested in and desires so much. So many teachers out there will teach men how to ‘act’ around women. What you should look for instead is those that teach how to ‘be’ around women. Relationships will continue to be a blindingly confusing entity to most men until they can find some truth within it all. They have no idea of the leveraged power they are going up against when they approach an extremely beautiful woman. This will throw his body language off. He will not act normally because he has been conditioned to respond and edify the perceptual beauty that she represents. Nothing he can say or do will showcase where he is really coming from. His body language gives it all away. He’s nervous and uncomfortable in his own skin around the woman. And while he’s focusing on what to say and how she might respond, the woman already near disqualifies him for not having power in the first place in relation to her. She’s already not interested before he opened his mouth. His body language and nonverbal communication already told her everything she had to know (to know to prevent the relationship in the first place). Buying a woman’s attention through flowers and gifts is a social CONstruct. It’s meant to ‘capture her’ and though it’s a romantic concept, it’s not based on her pure sexual or natural desire itself..it’s more of a conditioned social expectation of devotion. By giving her the power, authority, and control of the relationship through behaviors like that (courtship), a man isn’t turning any of the hot buttons on in a woman’s true sexual character. When a man confesses his love and devotion for a woman like at the end of many a movie, what they don’t show is the aftermath of how disinterested she becomes in reality. Why? there’s no mystery left for her. The guy laid all his cards out on the table when she wanted to keep discovering him for a long time. She wanted to be attracted to him and magnetized to him but couldn’t anymore. It defies her own logic too. Apply Alpha Relational Dynamics and you’ll be able to be your true self but more empowered and effective around women. A man who understands and loves the beauty within women, not the socially exploited part of them. His work focuses on the regaining and improving of real character within frustrated men who do don’t want to ‘act’, use pick-up lines or techniques to get women. Walleye Fishing at Night Rakes in the Fish

June 9th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Andrew Martinsen Have you ever tried walleye fishing at night? One of the great things about walleye fishing at night is you are almost always alone on the water, giving
you a huge advantage over the other anglers while they sleep. Here are some insider tactics to use next time you decide to give it a go after the sun goes down. Some walleyes will only eat when there are low-light conditions and minimal lake disturbances. This is important, because if the water is calm youll have an excellent chance to clean up on the walleyes at night. The walleye species is sensitive to light. However, at the same time the fish is also attracted to bright things, such as the shimmering of a lure that glows or is fluorescent. It is crucial that you understand the mindset of your prey. The walleye has a unique lifestyle with its own distinctive habits and preferences. One of the first things to do when you get on a lake is to look for things that arent showing on a lake map. Things such as rock formations, pockets of depth fluctuations and other abnormalities that are not readily obvious to all anglers. Night fishing can usually be quite bountiful in small patches of gravel that appear close to weeds. Keep an eye out for minnow formations during the day. Usually youll find them near bay entrances. If theyre there during the day, you can be sure the walleyes will be there at night. When the weather is consistent, walleyes are very predictable. If you find them feeding at a certain time, you can be sure theyll be there the following night around the same time. Try live bait with a variety of glow in the dark lures and prepare for a feeding frenzy. Andrew Martinsen is a walleye fishing fanatic. Island Gardens

June 5th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Derek Fell With the approach of winter, my thoughts turn to travelespecially to sunny islands where I can snorkel, swim and enjoy walks through lush tropical vegetation. I have a special fascination for islands, probably because I live a good two hours drive from the nearest beach, and because Bucks County is part of such a large continental land mass. On a recent visit to St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I stayed at the former RockresortCaneel Bay. During a tour of this spacious property I was surprised to discover that more than 100 employees work on the maintenance of the lush tropical gardens that hide the resorts beachfront cottages. It shows! Not only does the resort maintain its own private nursery for propagating plants, it has a resident horticulturist who seeks out exotic new plants from different parts of the world. I wandered leisurely through groves of fruiting banana trees, swaying coconut palms, and thick strands of richly-hued heliconias, with flower clusters up to three feet long, each floret resembling a lobster claw, from its oval, pointed shape and bright red coloration. I liked St. John for its wild atmosphere. Its not nearly as congested as neighboring St. Thomas, and its a lot more interesting to explore in a rented jeep. The place is full of history, and the scene of perhaps one of the greatest little-known tragedies in the colonization of the Americas, for it was on St. John that 1,900 slaves revolted against the 100 resident whites. They held control of the island for nearly six months, until overwhelming forces crushed their spirit to resist and they fled into the wilderness. There were mass suicides among the slaves, and those who were captured suffered cruel punishment, including burning, impalement and dismemberment. Ruins of the sugar mills that formed the islands economy still survive, many of them maintained by the U.S. Park Service, which owns much of the island. At Caneel Bay beautiful old ruins have been made into gardens, the stone walls garlanded with lush vines. During a stay on St. Thomas I checked into the new Grand Palazza Hotel, which resembles an Italian Villa, around a horseshoe-shaped bay. A Brazilian landscape architect has laid out beautiful lawns and terraces filled with tropical plants, and a crew of nine gardeners works full-time keeping the plantings healthy. A 15-minute flight from St. Thomas is St. Croix, which is easier to get around than congested St. Thomas, and which has pleasant rolling hills where it is still possible to find a beach all to yourself. Here I found the Buccaneer Hotel full of so many interesting plants it resembles a richly planted botanical garden. One of the owners, Elizabeth Armstrong, works diligently to keep everything correctly labeled and conducts nature walks almost every day. She showed me a beautiful mature baobab tree in full flower. One of the largest and longest-lived trees in the world, the baobab has a bottle-like shape and looks like it is made from stone. I have never seen a baobab outside of Africa, where I once had to climb into the branches of a 3,000-year-old specimen to avoid a prowling lion! The baobab is known as The Tree where Man was Born because African tribes believe that under the baobab man first learned the process of germination in seeds (the seeds of the baobab are large, chocolate colored, and pollinated by bats). The Buccaneer has a boat dock where its easy to catch a ride out to Buck Island for snorkeling along a beautiful underwater trail that leads through the most impressive coral canyons I have ever seen. In fact, the entire trail is a veritable underwater garden, with an impressive concentration of fish species gliding among the vast forests of elkhorn and staghorn corals.
For a totally different kind of island experience, consider Tresco, off the coast of Lands End, England. Twenty-five miles from the mainland, it is easily reached by helicopter from the mainland town of Penzanze. With a mild climate influenced by the Gulf Stream, Tresco rarely experiences frost and has one of the most richly planted gardens in the world. It contains large plant collections from Mexico, South Africa and New Zealand.
The Tresco Island Hotel is unobtrusive and almost blends in with the rocky scenery. Every room has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, and there are cliff walks that lead through sand dunes, along cliff-tops, through moorland and woodland. Cars are banned from the island, and bicycles are the most common mode of transportationor walking. The island is owned by Prince Charles, who goes there frequently to paint, but the Dorrian-Smith family has a 99-year lease, allowing it to farm the fertile fields and control tourism. The owners live in Abby House, a castle-like structure built from locally quarried stone and the salvage of shipwrecks. The gardens took shape almost a hundred years ago in an abandoned stone quarry adjacent to the house, and around the ruins of an old Benedictine monastery. During a leisurely stroll through the spectacular terraced gardens I have seen South African proteas in full bloom, South American amaryllis naturalized in huge colonies, and groves of Australian tree ferns. I have visited Tresco several timesin June and Octoberexperiencing good weather at both times, and the gardens were filled with color. Are You Being Taken Advantage of when Ordering Flowers Online?

June 1st, 2008 by catbrodie

By Janna Hagan Did you know that you can send flowers many different ways on the internet? With a few different options of delivering and ordering flowers online, you must be aware of security and safety of your personal information. Not only that, but you could be left with disappointing flowers for your event if you choose the wrong online florist. Many florists online have created websites that lead consumers to believe that they are “local florists.” Although you believe they are located in your area, many of them work in call centers far away from you or your flower recipient. With the following tips to sending your flowers online, you can be sure your flowers will get to your destination from a reliable and real professional florist group. Sending flowers online can be a fast and convenient way for on-the-go families to give a quick gift to the ones they love. Same day or next day delivery can get your flowers there on time. Another option is to place your flower order in ahead of time. Reminder services are also available to allow people to remember that important date or occasion. Although each other these options are great for any type of flower you are sending online, you must keep a few things in mind. With many “scam” websites on the net, you may feel worried about ordering anything online. Most well-known flower companies business depends on trust of their customers. Before putting your full reliance in a flower delivery service online, look for a privacy policy. This way you can be positive that they will not sell your e-mail address or phone number. Many companies will offer refunds or an exchange offer if you are unsatisfied with your products. With hundreds and maybe thousands of flower delivery companies on the web, you many be hesitant to choose just one. Local flower delivery seems like the obvious choice to most people. But, some florists online may not always be who they say they are. These “order collectors” will process your flower order to a local florist for almost half the price that you paid. While being untruthful and confusing, they also like to grab some of your extra money left over. Always make sure you are dealing with a real florist or floral company in your area. Look at where their physical address is located. Send an e-mail if you are unsure. Checking into their information can save you a lot of money! There are always many benefits if you do find a real and reliable florist in your area. You get a better value for what you paid for, professional advice, more sales information, specific details of your flowers and you are helping out a local company. Flowers are a great gift for any occasion. Nobody wants to pay more for a flower product that has been over-valued. If you find a good flower shop online, go for it. Flower delivery online really can be useful in saving time and hopefully, money. Be Sure And Look Before You Leap Into Marriage

May 30th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Don Diebel The purpose of this website is to help single men succeed with women. However, at some point in your life you find a special lady you want to settle down with and get married. When you become engaged I want you to be aware of the law concerning engagement rings and gifts given in contemplation of marriage. Let’s say that you ask a woman to marry you and you give her a nice engagement ring. You think things over and decide to call off the wedding at the last minute. Of course your bride-to-be is going to be hurt, angry, embarrassed, and devastated. You ask her to return the engagement ring and some expensive gifts you gave her. She refuses. By law does she have to return anything? No, because when a man gives a woman an engagement ring the law considers it a conditional gift. In others words, the gift is conditional on the woman marrying the man. If she calls off the wedding, then you have the right to demand her to return the ring and other gifts. I hope you never find yourself in this position of calling off a marriage on short notice. But, if you do, I wanted you to know in advance that you can’t get the ring back or gifts if she does not want to give them back to you. Don’t even think about taking her to court over this because you will lose your case. The best thing you can do is try to resolve your differences between you in a civil manner. Try to work something out over what gets returned to you. The moral to this story is, “Look before you leap.” Be absolutely sure that the woman you propose to is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. Burn Stomach Fat - 3 Costly Mistakes That Keep Your Stomach Flabby

May 26th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Tom Gifford Trying to burn stomach fat can be a difficult task if you do not have the right tools to do it. So many people have tried using different methods of trying to burn stomach fat such as the “miracle” exercise gimmicks that you see on infomercials or with some super fat burning pill. This article will show you some of the common mistakes that people make when trying to burn stomach fat. Top 3 Mistakes: BURN STOMACH FAT MISTAKE #1: Trying to overload on the crunches. This is a very common mistake that many people make when they try to burn stomach fat. The common thought is that if you do enough stomach exercises, it will make you lose stomach fat. Unfortunately, this is a myth that is either called spot reduction or spot reducing. This is not an adequate way to burn belly fat because you cannot purposefully lose fat in a specific region anymore than you can gain fat in a specific region. Doing lots of crunches as the only way to burn tummy fat will not burn lots of calories or raise your metabolism. It can get you a strong core and some nice abdominal development after you have lost a lot of stomach fat and your body fat percentage is low enough. BURN STOMACH FAT MISTAKE #2: Trying to eat as little as possible. A lot of people try to burn belly fat by “crash dieting”. This typically consists of eating 1 meal per day and then trying to not eat the rest of the time. Crash dieting is one of the worst ways to try and burn stomach fat! All it will do is make you hungry and tired. If you do lose anything, you will lose WEIGHT but not FAT. Losing weight is not the same as burning fat. Weight consists of water weight, muscle mass, and fat. If you lose any of this during crash dieting, you are likely to just lose water weight and muscle mass. If you want to burn tummy fat, you need to make your body lose fat and not weight! BURN STOMACH FAT MISTAKE #3: Trying to use fat burning pills. Are fat burners an adequate way to burn stomach fat? In my experience as a personal trainer and a former employee of GNC, I would have to say that fat burners are not a good way to try and lose stomach fat. The problem with using fat burners pills as a means to burn stomach fat is that a lot of people try to use them as the sole means to an end. They try to do it by only using fat burners, but not making the necessary changes to their exercise routine and diet. The only way fat burning pills will assist someone with the effort to burn stomach fat is if they are doing everything else with diet and exercise completely right, and even then I would doubt there would be a significant difference. So in conclusion, try to avoid these common mistakes people make when they try to burn stomach fat. Remember persistence is crucial for your success! Good luck =) Want to Reprint this Article? Faith Endures

May 23rd, 2008 by catbrodie

By Mellody Davis Faith is describe in the dictionary as belief, confidence, trust, security, and in keeping faith is describe as having obligation, verbal pledge, word of honor, promise, and loyalty. Lets look into the Bible and see what faith really is and how faith is accomplish. Look at 2Chronicles 20:20 it says Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Listen to me, Judah and people of Jesrusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful. After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying; Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever. Look in Habakkuk 2:1 The Lord answer habakkuks complaint it says Then the Lord replied: Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. See, he is puffed up; his desires are not uprightbut the righteous will live by faithindeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Now look a Matthew 9:27 it says As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, Have mercy on us, Son of David! When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? Yes, Lord they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, According to your faith will it be done to you; and their sight was restored. Look at Matthew 17:19 it says Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, Why couldnt we drive it out? He replied, Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Now look at Mark 11:22 it says Have faith in God. Jesus answered, I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. Look at Luke 12:27 it says Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow it thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Now look at Romans 1:16 it says I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness form God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from the first to last, just as it is written; The righteous will live by faith. Now look at Romans 10:12 it says For there is no difference between Jew and Gentilethe same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And can how can they preach unless they are sent. As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news! Now look at verse 17 it says Consequently, faith comes form hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Look at Romans 14:22 it says So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin. Now look at 2Corinthians 13:5 it says Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in youunless, of course, you fail the test? And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong. Not that people will see that we have stood the test but that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. Look at Hebrews 11:1 it says Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at Gods command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Now look at 1Peter 1:3 it says Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fadekept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trails. These have come so that your faithof greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by firemay be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Look at 2Peter 1:5 it says For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. In closing look at 1Corinthians 16:13 it says Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. Your Sister in Christ,

Top 10 Ways to Create and Manage Opportunity

May 20th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Philip E. Humbert Most of us are used to the concepts of risk management or time management. Many of the same principles can be applied to creating and responding to opportunities. Instead of thinking of opportunities as just “coming along”, you can actually increase the number of opportunities available to you, and there are specific principles you can use to assess whether a “possibility” has real “probability” and “profitability” for you. In times of rapid change, increasing the number of options you have available, and a system for prioritizing and responding to possibilities are critical business functions. 1. Enlarge your circle of friends. To increase the number of opportunities available, you need to go beyond traditional networking to generate friendships and trust with people who “aren’t like me”. Use any system you prefer, but be certain that your friendships include various ethnic, economic and social backgrounds, people who “think differently” - artists, engineers, teachers, “kids” and “old timers”. Don’t just “think outside the box”; network outside your circle! 2. Always be open to possibility. Years ago one of my mentors told me, “Everything I have is for sale, except my wife.” That may be rather crude and politically incorrect today, but his point was that any business opportunity, any creative idea or investment suggestion was worth at least a few seconds of his time. Look for the unlikely, consider the unthinkable and ponder the improbable. Life’s biggest opportunities are often disguised. 3. Practice creativity. Intentionally think of a way to turn every crack-pot, bad idea into something useful. This is not about finding a way to invest in every scheme that comes your way, it’s about practicing creativity, turning ideas on their heads, finding the kernel of wisdom or value, and throwing the rest away. 4. Avoid being overly tied to your goals. Goals, and plans for achieving them, can be extremely useful. They can keep us on track, focus our efforts, and motivate us when we’re tired. But they can also blind us to new possibilities. Work toward your goals; don’t let them run your life. New ideas and alternative possibilities will come along. Don’t drive right past them in your hurry to finish last year’s project! 5. “He who hesitates is a damned fool!” This quote from Mae West is a classic call to action. Being “light on your feet”, or in Muhammad Ali’s old phrase, being able to “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” is useful business advice. There are times when opportunity knocks, but only stays at the door for a moment. Be prepared to respond quickly. 6. “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” Being able to respond quickly is not the same as being foolish. About 95% of the opportunities, ideas and invitations that come your way will not be worth pursuing. If it’s a good idea today, it will likely still be a good idea after a night’s sleep and consultation with your trusted advisors. Balance, thoughtfulness and a healthy skepticism are also critical. 7. Assess the probability of success. Just as risk management compares the odds of being struck by lightening (extremely unlikely) to the chances of a critical shipment being lost (more likely), and assigns different values to each, so opportunities have differing probabilities of success. Just because an opportunity could work out, doesn’t mean it will. 8. Assess the potential payoffs. Again, borrowing from risk management, it’s essential to asses the potential for “winning big”. The guy who invented the Frisbee had a strange idea with a low probability of catching on, but the rewards have been enormous! The same goes for turning a coffee bar into Starbucks or sneakers into Nike. What were the probabilities that a couple of college students could turn some computer code into an operating system and end up with Microsoft? Low probability of success, but huge payoffs! 9. Actively invite opportunities. Let friends, co-workers, colleagues, competitors and customers know that you are receptive to new ideas. They are much more likely to share a possibility with you if they know you are always “looking for ideas”, having fun with possibilities and trying to understand the “next big thing”. Let them know you aren’t necessarily hoping to change careers, just open and interested in new opportunities. And don’t ridicule anything! Every idea is someone’s baby and, amazingly, most of them have some value hidden in there somewhere! 10. Assess opportunities in terms of your values. You know your strengths, your interests and your core values. There will be opportunities that will ask you to become someone you aren’t. You could make a fortune in stocks, real estate, software, or a thousand other industries, but you have to live with yourself. First, maintain your integrity. Copyright 2003 by Philip E. Humbert. Looking for Fast Weight Loss? Think Again!

May 15th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Chileshe Mwape If you are overweight, try to lose weight slowly. Lose about 1/2 to 1 pound a week until you reach a healthy weight. Keep track of your progress. To help you lose weight, ask for help from your doctor or a dietitian. Be wary of misleading programs and ads that offer quick weight loss. 1. “Lose 30 Pounds in Just 30 Days” and “Lose Weight Fast…”
Fast weight loss could harm your health. Unless your doctor advises it, dont look for programs that promise quick weight loss. Most overweight people should lose weight gradually. For safe and healthy weight loss, try not to exceed a rate of two pounds per week. The faster you lose weight, the more likely you are to gain it back. Sometimes, people with serious health problems associated with obesity may have legitimate reasons for losing weight rapidly. If so, a physician’s supervision is required. 2. “Lose Weight While You Sleep.”
Two common reasons for being overweight are eating too much and not being active enough. To be successful at losing weight, you need to change your lifestyle and not just go on a diet. This requires cutting back on the number of calories you eat by eating smaller amounts of foods and choosing foods lower in calories. It also means being more physically active. Claims for diet products and programs that promise weight loss without effort are often phony. 3. “Lose Weight and Keep It Off for Good.”
Be suspicious about products promising long-term or permanent weight loss. To lose weight and keep it off, you must change how you eat and how much you exercise. 4. “Ultimate Weight Loss Secrets…Breakthrough”
There are no ’secrets’ or miracle weight-loss programs. To lose weight, you have to reduce your intake of calories and increase your physical activity. There is no magic pill for obesity or weight loss. 5. “Jane Lost 90 Pounds in 5 Weeks.”
Just because someone achieved good results with a particular weight loss program doesn’t mean that you’ll get the same results too. Even if the claims are true, someone elses success may have little relation to your own chances of success. 6. “Lose Weight… Eat what you like”
To be successful at losing weight, you may need to change what you eat and your eating habits. This may require cutting back on the number of calories you eat by eating smaller amounts of foods and choosing foods lower in calories. You may need to avoid certain types of foods. 7. “Lose Weight Without Exercising…”
To lose weight and to maintain a healthy weight after weight loss, many adults will likely need to do more than 30 minutes of moderate to intensive physical activity daily. Physical activity decreases the risk of dying from coronary heart disease and reduces the risk of developing diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers. Research shows that daily physical activity may help a person lose weight by partially lessening the slow-down in metabolism that occurs during weight loss. Copyright 2005, Chileshe Mwape. Herb Gardening Indoors

May 6th, 2008 by catbrodie

By Mary Hanna Here are some tips for herb gardening indoors that will simulate the conditions in an outside garden. For Herb gardening indoors the growing climates need to be pretty much the same as the conditions outside. Get your herb plants from a good garden center nursery who will have plenty of garden advice to help you with your inside garden. You will need some garden equipment like a small digging garden tool, garden gloves, organic fertilizer and some small gardening containers. You probably already have most of these garden supplies in your garden shed. Soil is the most important aspect of growing herbs indoors. Use only top grade potting soil with an organic fertilizer mixed in. If you think it is too fine a soil, use a little perlite. Fertilize while potting the herbs and they should be happy until spring. If you have an herb that is not growing vigorously add a little organic liquid fertilizer to the water. When you go to transplant the herb, go one inch up in the size of the gardening container. If the plant is in a two inch pot, go to a three inch gardening container. Leave the roots alone and be careful not to bruise the stem. Don’t plant oreganos, mints, lemon balm or bee balm with other plants because they will overgrow everything. Pot these herbs in a garden container all their own. Some people swear that you must put garden stones in the bottom of the gardening container, but I dispute that opinion. I feel that the garden stones take valuable space away from the herb roots. When it comes to light, all herbs must get 4 to 6 hours of sunlight a day on your window sill. If your window doesnt supply that much light then purchase garden grow lights and hang them three inches above the plants. If you live in a very hot climate shade the herbs during the hottest periods. If you live in a very cold climate keep the herbs away from the cold glass panes. When it comes to watering, dont let the herbs dry out but dont drown them either. An inexpensive water meter from your garden center nursery will help with this important step in growing your herbs. Always use room temperature water so as not to shock the herb’s roots. If you follow all of these steps you will have a healthy herb garden all winter. Copyright 2005 Mary Hanna. All Rights reserved.
